Bookings should be made at least two weeks prior to your event/pickup date, but the further in advance the more likely I’ll be available for your date. Payment in full or non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your order.
All cakes and treats are made by a Cottage Food Business that is not subject to Maryland’s food safety regulations.
Made in a kitchen that handles all allergens, except crustacea.

Why do I ask you to text me? I like to keep all my customer communications in one place. I add you to my contacts and can refer to all the order details and prior communications easily. If you would rather speak on the phone, please text me first to arrange a convenient time and after we chat, I’ll text everything we decided on to you so that we both have it in writing. This helps a lot to keep your order correct!
We’ll discuss your event, the number of servings needed, size and style of cake, etc.

I’ll get back to you with a customized quote that includes the description of your cake flavors, size, design, extra elements (such as fondant pieces, candies, edible images, and toppers), the estimated number of servings, date of pickup, and total cost.
Check your quote over carefully and confirm I have all details correct, especially a name, age, or other personal elements going on the cake. Ask for changes, additions, or how to modify cost by taking some design elements off, if needed.
To book your cake (and hold your date), either full payment or a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining balance will be due 5-9 days prior to your pickup date. (I’ll let you know the exact due date, which depends on when I need to order supplies and begin working.) If you must cancel or reschedule your event, your 50% deposit will be held as credit for a future or rescheduled order, as it fits into my schedule (dates are not guaranteed when rescheduling). No cancellations or reschedules after the final payment is made, as supplies will be on order and some kitchen work will have begun.
Payment is accepted by Venmo @designedtoeat (first-time payment conf. code: 3096), Cashapp $designedtoeat, Zelle treats@designedtoeat.net, or cash drop off at an agreed-upon date/time. I will confirm receipt of your payment via text.
Custom cakes are baked with from-scratch, high-quality ingredients. Recipes have been tested and modified over time to deliver the best tasting, moist cakes and deliciously decadent fillings. It is difficult to put a value on the time and care that goes into the planning, design, and artistic decorating of each cake.
As a career artist and graphic designer turned baker, it is my mission to create cakes and treats that truly are Designed To Eat.
Round Cake Notes:
Size/inches indicate round pan diameter/width.
Taller cakes will be double barrel – 2 cakes, the same width, stacked to look like one tall cake. These have inner supports similar to tiered cakes.
Square layer cakes – additional charge.
Tiered cakes – base cake price plus $15 extra for each cake above the first tier (including double barrel cakes).
